Topic: SyncApps?

Hello,

Can you please provide more info on your SyncApp development.  Would like to use your tools to enable Social Sharing via the TV.

Thanks

Steve

Re: SyncApps?

SyncApps APIs are available at http://flingo.org/developers/syncapps

These APIs are for second screen apps and web pages that want to find the TV in the network and ask what is on.

Re: SyncApps?

Hello,

Using the API calls above from the syncapps page, when calling the inject function -

http://fling.tv/cid/inject

specifically -

http://fling.tv/cid/inject?guid=G&c … 1323658808

I get redirected to an online dating site - hot.fling?  Can you provide any advice?

Thanks - using a faux tv service and trying to read the cid from tv.com

Looks like you may have forgot the "O" at the end of fling in the URL address it should be flingo.tv

Re: SyncApps?

Ahhh yes.  You are correct.  I was however cutting and pasting the $_GET method of the inject function from the syncapps page - so there is a typo in the API docs.   Should have caught that one though.

Thanks!

Re: SyncApps?

Good catch.

I'll fix the api docs.

Re: SyncApps?

Hello,

Can the faux  TV service be created to accept networks other than TNT?  Do you simply use the stations name (I.E. - FOX,ABC,NBC) etc.. to query those channels with the schedule function?

Thanks

TNT, CNN, TBS are available for development.   Others will be available soon.

Re: SyncApps?

Great - thanks Dave.  So if I wanted to move from the faux TV service I've written to actual app development on a TV, I would need to get a Vizio with the flingo app, is that correct?  Do you have an SDK for the TV app or what is the process for writing a content aware based app that can also tie into Twitter/FB etc...

Thanks

Re: SyncApps?

I have started to play around with the SyncApps API.

I have a Vizio Smart TV ( Model M3D470KD ) connected to the same wifi network.
The problem I have is that when I enter the discover command in the browser ( http://flingo.tv/fling/discover ), my TV is only offering the default flingo service, there is no way I can get the CID service.

Is it because my TV does not support this service or am I missing something?

Any help will be appreciated.

Re: SyncApps?

Hi,
Vizio TVs don't support Syncapps yet. Fling and Syncapps are two different services. Your TV has Fling but not Syncapps so APIs related to Syncapps will not be applicable in this case.

Thanks!
Tapan.
