Topic: "For unsupported domains you must provide the URL ..."

I'm testing trying to push a video out from an unsupported domain (gomtv.net).

I click on the flingo bookmark in Firefox 4.0 and it brings me to this msg:

"For unsupported domains you must provide the URL of the actual video or resource being flung and the associated title"

However,  I'm not finding anywhere to 'provide the URL',  or the associated title.   What is that process?

Thanks.  Great service you have here btw.

Von,

Many sites obfuscate the URL of the video.  The URL of the page containing the video is different from the URL video of the video.

I looked at gomtv.net meaning I looked at the source HTML of a few web pages.  It wasn't immediately clear to me how to map from page URL to video URL.   Luckily this is an open source project.  If you know a way to perform this mapping, I will include it.

Gom has both paid (subscription based) and unpaid video available on the site;  they also have licensing deals with sponsors and Blizzard software so they take some pains not to allow any of their stuff to be linked to or embedded anywhere.

However we are just trying to display the vid on an alternate device right?   So you would know better than I would if you can get around this code.

I used Dev Toolbar to look at the code for this url:

http://www.gomtv.net/2011gslsponsors3/vod/65243

The code is a call to a flash object.    See the last line --   src="/common/gomHD.swf?v=0031"'

embed id="gslPlayer960" height="580" align="middle" width="960" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" name="gslPlayer960" bgcolor="#000000" quality="high" flashvars="title=Code S,Ro 4 match 1 - oGsNaDa vs oGsInCa&leagueid=21581&vjoinid=56994&autoplay=1" src="/common/gomHD.swf?v=0031"

Any way to get a vid like this flung out to the big screen?

Try entering the URL into the form at http://flingo.tv/fling/create_fling

This is an embed code generator form, but it can also be used to test URLs by clicking on the icon next to the generated embed code.

I am trying to fling from my HDHomeRun Plus box which is a OTA HDTV tuner that has a hardware video trans-coder that can stream video over HTTP on a different port number.
It streams fine using MPC or VLC when I use open URL / network stream.
However I tried to fling it and the TV won't play it. Does this support x264/AC3 HTTP video streams?
